WHILE most people were enjoying a lie-in last Friday, Istead & Ifield’s keener members were down at Folkestone to take part in the annual Good Friday 10-miler.
Although a predominantly flat course, weather conditions can often make the run quite tricky as the main part of the run is on the windy and exposed promenade between Hythe and Folkestone.
Twelve Istead members took part in a field of 488 runners, with the men’s team finishing just outside the medals in fourth place.
The ladies team came in 10th.
Istead's only top three finish on the day came from club president Bob Carter, who was third in over 70 category.
