DARTFORD Harriers AC's under-20 men and women were in action on May 7 at Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford, in the first of the National Junior League matches.

The ladies finished third and the men were seventh with the team taking fifth overall.

Discus specialist Rosalind Seeley is going from strength to strength and was awarded field athlete of the match after she won the event with a personal best of 41.10m.

She has won all four of her competitions this season and added more than five metres since last season.

Rosalind is now among the top throwers in the UK.

Megan Edwards notched up two victories with 59.4secs in the 400m and 11.12m in the triple jump.

Joanne Coe won the A-string high jump with 1.58m (pb) and Lauren Vickers took the B-string with 1.45m.

Gavin Comber continues his comeback after a year of injury with a personal best of 10.7secs for second in the A-string 100m.

He also won the A-string 200m in 21.9secs.

Both Dartford's javelin specialists achieved personal bests in their first outing with the senior weight implement.

Tom Morgan was third in the A-string with 44.53m and Daniel Shaw, still only 15, won the B-string with 40.29m.

In the Southern Mens League ay Mayesbrook Park, Barking, Dartford's senior Men were delighted to win the season's first match.

The feat is more remarkable given they were recently promoted.

Gavin Comber was in fine form with a double sprint win in the A-string 100m (10.8secs) and 200m (21.7sevs).

Also performing well on the track was Sam Coombes, timing 4:03.2 for second in the A-string 1,500m.

Max Hall made a big impression in the A-string field events with second in the shot with 11.25m; second in the discus with 35.89m and third with the javelin with 48.60m.

Performing well in the triple jump were Paul Williams, A-string second with 12.36m and Jack Fox who took first in the B-string with 12.19m.
