Wheelchair Basketball League Cup Quarter-Final
STORM2 Wheelchair Basketball team overcame higher division opposition to reach the semi-final of the League Cup.
In a thrilling match the third division south side beat the Stratford Players of the second division south by just four points.
They now face Sparrows2 currently top of the second division south on April 7 at the Bromley Pavilion Centre, on Kentish Way, Bromley.
The quarter-final started well for Storm2 as they created lots of scoring chances and ended the first quarter leading 14-8.
However, by the end of the second quarter it was clear this was going to be a tough match as the Stratford Players came back to within a point.
After half-time Storm2 stepped up a gear to lead by four points going into the final quarter, setting up a nervous climax.
In the opening four minutes of the quarter no baskets were scored as the tension grew.
As the final minute approached Storm had a six-point advantage which was reduced to four before Stratford brought on their big three-point expert.
However, Storm2 kept the dangerman at bay to win what was their hardest match of the season so far and maintain their 100 per cent record.
