OLD Dunstonians made it ten wins from ten games this season, when they progressed to the fourth round of the Powergen Junior Vase by beating Hastings & Bexhill 53-17.

The Old Boys opened the scoring after 12 minutes with a trademark move, which resulted in Nick Mott going over in the corner, with Ben Thomas adding the conversion.

Hasting replied with a converted try before Thomas put the Old Boys' back ahead with a 30-metre penalty.

Hooker Sam Dayani, working the short side off a lineout, then went in unopposed, with Thomas again adding the extra two popints before each side exchanged penalties to leave the Old Boys 20-10 ahead at the break.

Dunstonians moved through the gears in the second half, with Mott scoring again, while a further touchdown came from Dean Sole under the posts after a move from the Old Boys' own 10-metre line which involved most of the side.

Renford Bennett then powered down the left-flank to score in the corner, brushing off four would-be tacklers, while a second "try" from him was disallowed for having a foot in touch.

Thomas also added two very special tries of his own the second seeing him side-stepping most of the Hastings back line in their 22.

He also added four second-half conversions to to take his personal tally for the match to 28 points.

Next Saturday, the Old Boys return to league action when they visit Barnet Wood Road to play Bromley. The match kicks off 2.30pm.
