Bromley showed their talent for playing cup rugby, when they beat Horsham 29-7 on Saturday in the Powergen Junior Vase.

The visitors came to Barnet Wood Road enjoying a long unbeaten run, but the home side had done their homework .

After sustained Bromley pressure, Burrows was driven over for a try, which Keech converted in the 15th minute. Ten minutes later, Keech made a great individual break only to be hauled down just short of the line.

This led to a series of scrums and after Horsham were penalised several times, the referee had no option but to award Bromley a penalty try, which Keech again converted.

As the half drew to a close, Bromley swept downfield again and after a good team move Duffy knocked-on a difficult try-scoring pass.

This led to a scrum ,which Bromley took against the head, and No.8 Bromage barrelled his way over for an unconverted try to give Bromley a 19-0 half-time advantage.

The home side then hit a purple patch for 20 minutes, showing great controlled rugby in the forwards and danger out wide when they moved the ball. During this time Keech kicked a penalty, and Bromage scored another converted try after a long bout of pressure on the Horsham line.

To Horsham's credit, they never gave up and ran the ball at every opportunity and were rewarded with a converted try of their own 15 minutes from time as Bromley slackened off.
