AN EXHIBITION of young boxers attracted interest from 250 fans and helped raise £1,000.
The Bexleyheath-based Danson Youth Boxing Club was the venue for the fight night, which brought together youngsters from clubs across Kent and London.
A total of 14 bouts were contested on the night, all of which were very evenly matched according to the club's co-owner Paul Chapman.
He said: "It being our first ever-exhibition I was feeling fairly nervous beforehand, but I needn't have worried.
"Everyone who came along said what a successful event it had been.
"All the boys who boxed on the night were a real credit to their parents, coaches, clubs and, perhaps most importantly of all, themselves."
The event featured fighters from south-east London's Samuel Montagu, Nemesis and Fisher clubs, whilst Kent-based clubs St Mary's, Aylesham and Hailsham, near Eastbourne, also sent along representatives.
All the money raised will be going towards buying new equipment for the club's facilities in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath.
