SWIMMERS tend to specialise in one event, but Caroline Bovey is bucking that trend.
The 11-year old Chislehurst and Sidcup School pupil, who competes for the Eltham Stingrays Club, won all four one-length races in which she was entered at the Future Champions event, held at Lewisham baths.
It is believed to be the first time such a clean sweep of the boards has ever occurred at the event.
Caroline's favourite stroke is the freestyle, though she is equally adept at the three other strokes, as mum Cheryl explains.
She said: "At the moment swimming is mainly a hobby for Caroline, and so although she enjoys the sport she doesn't take it too seriously.
"That's the main reason why she competed in all four events, rather than specialising in one particular discipline.
"She's still only young and there may come a time in the future when she does decide to concentrate all her efforts on freestyle, but until then she's quite happy to carry on swimming the other strokes."
