Millennium Swimming Club competed splendidly in the Bronze/Silver/Gold Trophy gala held at Ladywell Leisure Centre, hosted by Saxon Crown.

The Chislehurst-based team shared second place with Eltham Stingrays in an exciting competition where positions changed many times throughout the gala.

In the girls' Bronze level category, Emily Singh started things off by winning the one-length backstroke.

Alana Giles came third in the butterfly, while Hannah Corbett took second place in the breaststroke.

In the Silver two-length races, Jade Scognamillo was second in the backstroke and third in the four-length individual medley, while Leah Eastwood was first in the freestyle and second in her butterfly events.

In the three-length Gold category, Frances O'Toole was victorious in both the freestyle and breaststroke races.

Jo Dixie also took the first place slot in the four-length individual medley, while Georgina Frost secured second place in the butterfly.

The boys did equally well too. Andrew Johns came third in the bronze breaststroke race, Matthew Lawton was second in the Silver backstroke, while Aaron O'Connor came third in individual and breaststroke races.

Joseph Farage swam well in a tough heat of the Silver class butterfly to take third.

In the Gold section, the boys also excelled with Darren Ko claiming first place in both the backstroke and the freestyle, while Rohan Giles was runner-up in both the butterfly and individual medley.

Unfortunately, Some of Millennium's swimmers were judged too fast' for their races, and Alice Kirby, Loren Corbett, Simon Johns, Jacob Bullard and Josh Chappell all incurred time penalties.

In the relay races, the girls' bronze team had a clean sweep with Holly Morecz joining Emily, Alana and Hannah to win both the medley and the freestyle relay.

The silver team, comprising Loren, Holly, Jade and Leah were second in both relays, while the Gold team of Georgina, Frances, Jo and Alice won the freestyle relay by half the length of the pool.

In the boys' relays, Thomas Lawton joined Jacob, Andrew and Matthew to take second place spot in the bronze freestyle.

Simon, Jacob, Aaron and Joseph were third in the freestyle, while the Gold team of Joseph, Josh, Darren and Rohan was second in both medley and freestyle races.

The climax of the meeting were the two, six by one-length squadron freestyle races.

The girls' team of Alana, Hannah, Holly, Loren, Jo and Alice came second, while and the boys team of Matthew, Simon, Joseph, Aaron, Rohan and Josh finished third.
