SEVERAL crews from Gravesend Rowing Club took part in the Maidstone small boats head race on Sunday.
The men’s intermediate three coxed four, comprising Simon Hart, Mark McManaman, Stephen Cason, Karl Smith, was coxed by Sandy Johnson.
They recorded a time of 11m36s, while the women’s veterans B crew of Pip Mester, Sue Beecham, Debbie Johnson, Amanda G-Cooper (coxed by Stephen Cason) finished in 12m44s.
Matt Johnson and Dean Pettipher won their intermediate three double sculling category with a time of 9m55s.
Pettipher then raced as a single sculler in 10m42s, while Matt Johnson went on to race in a double scull with Medway Town’s Tim Powell and they recorded a time of 11m00s.
Finally, a mixed Vet A crew comprising Mike Smith, Debbie Cassidy, Sandy Johnson, Karl Smith (coxed by Stephen Cason) timed 11m37s in their race.
