CHISLEHURST-based Croydon Lacrosse Club faced a difficult match at Brighton, one of the top teams in East One League.
Croydon started well and took an early lead, but it became apparent Brighton had the advantage in both fitness and strength in numbers.
The visitors were 4-2 down at half-time, finally losing the match 8-4. Croydon showed excellent defence against countless attacks from Brighton.
However, they couldn’t get a foothold in attack. Brighton played well as a team throughout the match, breaking down any potential counter attack.
They had the enthusiasm and power to take the opportunities given to them and gain their lead in each quarter.
Croydon can take heart from the game as the percentage of play in their defensive half should have seen Brighton winning by a larger margin.
