CHISLEHURST-based Croydon Lacrosse Club expected a tough game against Walcountian Blues Seconds, who currently sat top of East Division 1 league.
The first quarter saw Croydon take a 3-0 lead as they looked comfortable, winning the majority of their face-offs and both defending and attacking confidently.
At half-time the score was 5-2 as Croydon maintained their three-goal advantage.
Through the third and fourth quarters, Blues showed Croydon exactly why they were top of the league, equalising the scores at 8-8 with three minutes left to play.
With 30 seconds left on the clock, Blues intercepted the ball and scored with their final shot just before the final whistle blew.
