VIGO extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a convincing win over an Olavians side missing so many of their first choice side.

The first half was a damp squib as Vigo failed to find any rhythm.

Olavians belied their personnel losses with a thoroughly committed performance and shocked the home side with a try from Adam Smith after an excellent break by James Clark.

Deserving of the lead, Olavians tackled their hearts out and looked to counter attack against a diffident Vigo.

The villagers received a rocket at half-time from the coach and came out blazing in the second half.

The reliable Dan Couchman kicked off the scoring spree, touching down from a pushover scrum.

Dave Winstone, who had earlier missed a brace of penalties, found his range with the conversion to regain a lead Vigo were not going to relinquish readily.

Rejuvenated, the pack tore into the visitors, roared on by a healthy crowd.

A pair of tries by Andy Wilford and Robert Hayes in a five minute burst of explosive power, both converted by Winstone, extended the lead.

Shell-shocked Olavians fought gallantly but a penalty from Winstone added to their misery.

A late try from Dan Norton, again converted by Winstone, was the icing on the cake for an upwardly mobile Vigo outfit.
