GRAVESEND Hockey Club made an excellent start against Tunbridge Wells and took an early lead when Kerry Jewiss managed to get on the end of a cross from Karen Howell.
They remained in control for long periods in the first half but Tunbridge Wells managed to equalise from a penalty corner.
Gravesend came out in the second half determined to capitalise on their possession and managed to score three times in quick succession, with Jewiss getting her second and Howell and Becky Saunders adding their names to the score sheet.
However, Tunbridge Wells had the last say when a shot deflected off a Gravesend defender’s stick to send the ball flying high beyond the reach of keeper Lucy Allison.
Meanwhile, Gravesend’s third string were hammered 7-0 by Bexley Invicta.
