MICHAEL Saunders won the Dartford Golf Club championship for the second year running last Sunday.

Playing against the club’s best players, the 18-year-old scored a gross 68 and 66, totalling 134 to win by four shots from Jamie Howell on 138 and Chris Snell on 142.

The youngster will now represent DGC as their champion in the Watson Trophy.

Saunders’ success came on the back of him playing in the final qualifying stages at The Open in Scotland earlier in the week.
