GRAVESEND Rowing Club members teamed up with Gravesend Regatta Committee rowers to take part in the Langstone Cutters summer regatta.

The committee took one of their own boats along, a clayton skiff, and the day saw nine races in total being rowed, with each crew rowing three times.

A Gravesend Rowing Club team made up of Mark Watkins, Michelle Brady, Pip Mester and John Nightingale were the overall winners.

Meanwhile, Gravesend Regatta Committee held the second Tracey Wynn Memorial race to the East Blyth Buoy and back on Sunday from New Bridge, Gravesend.

The race, which is 25-miles long, was won by the Crown & Thistle crew of Ricky Grix, Craig Mercer, Grant Loten, John Nightingale and Mick Ramsey in 4hr53m.

The trophy will be presented at the committee's annual presentation to be held at the Old Gravesendians Rugby Club on July 31 at 7.30pm.
