ERITH & District Swimming Club had a great start to the new junior league speedo campaign at the weekend by claiming second place overall.
Convincing individual wins from Gabriella De Souza Jacques, Myles Ellis, Georgia Burdett, James Vick (2), Joseph Neighbour, William Wilding and George Leigh helped the team gain maximum points.
There was a double win for the boys’ 10 and under relay team of Myles Ellis, Joseph Neighbour, James Vick and Frankie Hutchinson, as well as the girls’ nine and under relay team of Eleanor Chapman, Jade Lucas, Gabriella De Souza Jacques and Georgia Burdett. Erith & District SC will now go on to compete in round two on May 10 at Waltham Forest.
Results: First - Chelmsford 232.5pts; Second - Erith 178pts; Third - Epping Forest 177pts; Fourth - Southend 164.5pts; Fifth – Bishop’s Stortford 133pts; Sixth - Canvey Island 107pts.
