Bexley Swimming Club had an impressive victory at Moat Park Leisure Centre, in Maidstone, recording 23 individual and 15 relay wins out of a total of 61 races.

The evening started well with four straight wins from David Court (open men’s freestyle), Marie Heselden (open Ladies freestyle) and in the under-11 age group, Ford Curran won the 50m butterfly, (later in the evening addingthe 50m backstroke) and Naomi Ross won the girls’ 50m butterfly.

These were followed swiftly by two wins for Paige Dummer, and one each for Matt Shead and Chloe Ross. Next up was the gala where relay wins were recorded by: the open ladies medley; 11-and-under boys’ freestyle; 11-and-under girls’ freestyle; 15-and-under boys’ and girls’ freestyle teams; and both girls and the boys 13-and-under medley teams. Individual wins continued into the night with: Josh Snow; Alex Augustine; Robert Shead; Jodie Cousins; Robbie Saunders; Lauren Thompson; Nick McMonagle; Jade Barclay (2); Jack Legon (2); Kelsey McCue; James Bull and Sinead Brand.

To finish off the evening, Bexley then recorded more relay wins in: the open ladies freestyle; 11-and-under girls’ and boys’ medley teams; 15-and-under boys and girls’ medleys; and the teams of 13-and-under girls and boys’ freestyle.

An impressive win rounded of the proceedings in the 10-by-one freestyle mixed squadron relay.

Earlier in the month the junior swimmers, many competing for the first time in a competition, finished in second place in the M A Ray trophy gala in Northfleet.

Individual wins went to Arnie Atkins, Joanne Ball, Elise Fleming, Sophia Fewster, together with six relay wins from the nine-and-under mixed medley relay, 11-and-under girls’ freestyle, nine-year-girls’ freestyle, 10-year girls’ and boys’ freestyle relays and the 16-by-one squadron relay.
