A young Thai boxer has been tipped for the top after winning her first three fights convincingly against much older and heavier opponents.

Fifteen-year-old Bernice Alldis, from St Mary Cray, won her first professional bout held in the Guilford Town Hall, where more than 1,000 fighters were competing in variois categories.

Bernice’s victory in the 54kg class over three two-minute rounds was a unanimous decision.

She said: “It was great, I’ve never experienced anything like it. My trainer, Alan Keddle, always taught me to be determined to win, and I did.

“I’d like to be the best in the country and eventually fight in Thailand.” She trains five times a week at the Orpington Combat Sports, at Tripes Farm, and Keddle said: “She beat a good 19-year-old from a decent gym in Manchester competing with full Thai boxing rules.

“Bernice is only just 15 and normally would not be be fighting in the adult category. She is because she has done so well.” In her previous two fights, the Priory schoolgirl beat adults, one of whom was three stones heavier, by a majority decision and the other when the girl quit in the second round.

Keddle, who was double British and European champion, added: “There are no head or shin guards, eight-ounce gloves are used and fighters can kick or punch anywhere, but not elbow the head. She’s so tough and never complains. She can be one of the top female fighters in the country.” Bernice hopes to continue her winning form at a show event scheduled to take place in Croydon in the near future.
