The South London & Kent Pool Alliance kicked off this Thursday with every team hoping for a successful season.
Last years champions, the George IV suffered an opening day defeat on home baize, as the Beehive won 8-7 with Alex Winter running riot winning all three of his frames.
Hotshots go to the top of the table after week 1 with a crushing win over the Coach & Horses 14-1.
The Jolly Fenman put in an impressive display away at the Summerfield.
After coming to grips with the quickness of the table, the Fenman eased away to win 10-5.
New boys Riley's had an opening day victory against Woolwich Catholic Club 10-5, and Gary Mason produced two screaming blacks in the Pickwick's 9-6 away win at the Fox Under The Hill.
The early pacesetters in the first division are the Bellegrove Social Cub after a big home 13-2 win against the Ship & Billet.
The Kings Arms started the season well.
Steve Reed won all three frames as they outgunned Riley's Royals 11-4.
The Angerstein Hotel will be extremely pleased with their evenings work, marking their SLKPA debut with a 9-6 home win with the Lee Green Constitutional Club, and it was a similar score line for King William IV against Gallies.
New teams are always welcome into the SLKPA with matches played on Thursday evenings.
