A YOUNG member of Royal Blackheath Golf Club has won the men's open at Chart Hills GC.
England under-18 player Jonathan Bell had a bogey free first round of 67 five under par to take the lead going into the afternoon round.
The course played much harder after lunch and Bell returned with a 74 two over par, and with a total score of three under par he won by three stokes from Damien Turner and playing partner John Macklin.
Following a great season with wins in the Sir Henry Cooper masters and south east of England group championships, Bell has been selected to represent England at the Honda international world championships in Tokyo next month.
The young pretender is in his second year at the Sussex golf college and would like to thank all the staff for all the help and time they have given him this year.
He would like to thank his coach David Bailey of the Addingtion Court academy.
