Eltham Terrace Club A are sitting pretty at the top of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Elite League, after securing their third win on the spin, with this week’s effort thanks to an in-form Dan Foley.

This week they went to Hustlers Simply Lovleh and it was the home side that got out of the blocks quickest, taking the first four frames, which included a break and dish from George Covington and a dish from a dry break by Adam Hewson.

It was Foley who prevented the whitewash and gave Terrace hope for the second set, which they took on board, sending the set into a final frame decider, which Foley won with a clearance from a dry break.

This momentum followed Terrace into the final set, with George Hammond performing a dish from a dry break and Foley was on hand again to earn Terrace the bonus point with a break and dish for his unbeaten hat-trick, giving his team the narrow, 2-1 & 8-7 triumph.

Simply Lovleh are now in fourth, but just one point behind Terrace and also unbeaten are Hotshots, after they beat Pickwick this week.

Things didn’t look like going Hotshots way as Pickwick took the first three frames, but Hotshots battled hard and brought it back to, 3-2 by the end of the set.

Richard Chapman continued the good run with a break and dish in frame six, but Pickwick tied the set with the next frame, however Tony Wilson, Steve Krishnan and Neil Hall strung another three frames together to make it, 1-1 & 6-4 going into the final set.

Again, the first two frames of the set were shared but Hotshots put another three in a row together to make it, 2-1 & 10-5 on the night, giving them their third win in a row this season.

Three out of three on the night went to Krishnan and he was supported by Chapman, Hall and Wilson who all won two of their three frames.

This defeat leaves Pickwick at the bottom of the table and the only team in the division without a win so far this season.

Sitting just above Pickwick are newly promoted, Bellegrove Flyers and they came up against an all-star performance playing the Allstars this week and were dealt a crushing, 3-0 & 13-2 defeat.

Tony Halpin, Ritchie Mitchell and Stacy Redman were the all-stars for Allstars, all scoring three frame wins.

This was the Allstars first victory of the season and puts them into fifth place.

Matches between Eltham Terrace Nuthouse and Eltham Terrace Rovers are normally close-run things but that couldn’t be further from the truth this time out, as Rovers romped to a, 3-0 & 12-3 victory.

The damage was done in the first set, with Rovers whitewashing it, taking all five frames but Nuthouse didn’t let that dishearten them, forcing the second set into a final frame decider, but Ryan Francis dealt the hammer blow, giving Rovers the set and the bonus point before the third set had even begun Nuthouse didn’t recover from this and Rovers went on to take the final set, 4-1 to complete the comprehensive victory.

Francis won all three of his frames on the night and he was joined by Steve Dixon, with Elliot Giles also unbeaten on two out of two.

This result leaves Nuthouse in sixth, six points behind Rovers in third.

North Heath Social Club made it three wins out of three with a, 2-1 & 9-6 win over Royal Oak to put them top of SLKPA Tier Two East.

It was a very close game, with both of the first two sets going to a final frame decider, with each team winning one, which left it finely poised at, 1-1 & 5-5 going into the final set.

It was at this point where North Heath put their foot on the gas, taking the first four frames of the last set to win the match, before Royal Oak prevented the whitewash by taking the last frame.

Ian Stringer and Tony Garrett were the inspiration behind North Heath’s victory, both scoring unbeaten hat-tricks. Somehow New Eltham are staying in touch with North Heath, racking up their third victory in a row despite only having four players for each of those matches.

This week’s victims were CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s and they didn’t look like they were in the game after New Eltham won the first three frames, but they battled back and were only one behind by the end of the set.

However, all four of New Eltham’s players recorded a victory in the second set, putting them, 2-0 up and only needing one frame for the bonus point, which Dec Kelly got for them in frame eleven.

CSC did not let this get them down though and they continued to chase the point for winning the final set and they almost got it, going, 2-1 up but New Eltham forced the set in to a final frame shoot-out, where Barry Barham was just too strong, giving his side the, 3-0 & 10-5 triumph.

Paul Elford gave a captain’s performance, winning all three of his frames, including a dish from a dry break in the first set and Kelly played some lovely pool, particularly in the first two sets, to also end up on an unbeaten hat-trick.

New Eltham are just one point behind North Heath with Royal Oak four behind them in third and two points behind them are Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, who picked up a, 2-1 & 10-5 victory over bottom club, Bellegrove A this week.

Rack Pack raced to a, 4-1 lead in the first set but Bellegrove battled hard and forced the second set in to a final frame decider and were rather fortunate when Rack Pack potted the black before they should have, giving Bellegrove the set, 3-2 and their first point of the season.

However, it proved too much of a hill to climb, with Rack Pack taking the final set by 4 frames to 1.

Bellegrove missed the in-form Jack Taylor as he was too young to play at Eltham Terrace but Joe Hills and Steve Hughes both stepped up to the plate, taking two of their three frames to help give their team it’s precious first point and a foundation in which to build upon.

Sharks have swum to the top of SLKPA Tier Two West and are now the only unbeaten team in the division, after their bite was too much for Crayford Social Club Rugrats.

The first set went to Sharks by 4 frames to 1 and Rugrats couldn’t recover losing the next two sets, 3-2 for an overall, 3-0 & 10-5 defeat.

Despite the resounding victory, Sharks only had two unbeaten players, Chris Mackenzie, who won both his frames and Eno Idiong, who went one better with an unbeaten hat-trick.

Dropping to second are Rose Inn, after they were beaten by Woolwich Wolfpack this week. Rose Inn had the better start, taking the first set, 3-2 which included a break and dish from Lewis Hearn, but Wolfpack were resilient and won the next two sets, 4-1 and 3-2 for an overall, 2-1 & 9-6 triumph.

It’s already looking pretty tight at the top of this division, with Rose Inn one point behind Sharks and Wolfpack one point behind Rose Inn but it’s still early days and plenty more pool to be played.

In the remaining match in the division, Bellegrove Superstars are really not living up to their name, after losing their third match in a row to stay winless at the bottom of the table.

The first set against Fox &Hounds was close, with Fox just edging it, 3-2 and they went onto win the first three frames of the second set to take it, with the last two frames of the set being shared, giving Fox an overall, 2-0 & 7-3 lead going into the final set.

The last set went exactly the same as the second except this time it was in Superstars’ favour, making the score a more respectable, 2-1 & 8-7 to Fox.

Jason Brunton was the superstar for Superstars, keeping them in the match with three frame wins, with Alan Dolan also scoring a hat-trick for Fox and he was supported by Neil Shelton, who won both of his frames.

The teams from New Eltham continue to dominate SLKPA Tier Three, with both New Eltham Social Club and New Eltham Club on eleven points but the former is top, having won two more frames.

This week New Eltham Social Club went to new boys Red Barn, who gave a good account of themselves only losing the first and third sets by the odd frame, 3-2. However, the damage was done in the second set, with New Eltham Social Club taking it by 4 frames to 1 for an overall, 3-0 & 10-5 victory, a score line that seemed cruel to Red Barn.

If that seemed cruel then spare a thought for New Eltham Club’s opponents, Bexleyheath Working Mans Club, who lost each set, 3-2 giving New Eltham Club a, 3-0 & 9-6 triumph.

It was a good all-round team performance to keep New Eltham Club’s unbeaten streak going, as Gary Mason, Shane Burnett and Jeff Bailey all winning two frames, with Bailey’s including a superb break and dish.

Paul Cobbold also put in a solid performance, playing his first ever World Rules matches and winning them both, with Jamie Phillips picking up the other frame.

Real Hustlers game against Lord Kitchener also finished, 3-0 & 9-6 in Hustlers favour, with each set being won, 3-2 which may have felt a little unfair on Lord Kitchener as they felt they deserved something out of the game.

Academicals are equal third with Happy Hustlers, after they broke their unbeaten run this week.

The teams cancelled each other out, both taking one of the last two sets, 3-2 but Academicals had already gained the advantage, winning the first set, 4-1 for an overall, 2-1 & 9-6 victory.

Academicals Captain, Gary Mason led from the front, winning all three of his frames and he was joined by team mate Tony Gear.

Both teams are now three points behind the two New Eltham teams.
