Hustlers held the penultimate SLKPA Ladies Singles League night on Monday 6 November and it was a busy night for Lynn Maher-Bulbul and Julie Lancaster, playing four matches each.

There was mixed fortunes for them, both winning one of their four matches, with Maher-Bulbul’s against Lancaster, 3-1.

In two of her other games Maher-Bulbul took a, 2-0 lead but she let it slip both times, with the top two, Kerry Wyatt and Petrina Pearce both finishing, 3-2 victors.

Maher-Bulbul’s final match ended with Claire Stork winning, 3-0 to leave her in seventh place.

Lancaster’s win came against Sam Vohmann, 3-0 and she went on to play top of the table, Wyatt losing, 3-0 and bottom of the table, Jade Holmes, with Holmes picking up her second victory of the season, 3-1.

With three players, Wyatt, Pearce and Angie Hobbs all level on 29 points, it was time to make a push for the title but Hobbs was absent, so she will have to play catch up on the final night, leaving the other two to battle it out this time round.

Wyatt held up her side of the bargain, already beating Maher-Bulbul and Lancaster and in her other match Donna Mullins played brilliantly to take her to a final frame decider, which Wyatt secured to remain unbeaten on the night and stay top of the table.

She is only top by one point, although she has a game in hand over Pearce as she had mixed fortunes in her other two games.

Mullins couldn’t match her performance against Wyatt as she went down, 3-0 to Pearce but in her final match of the night she narrowly missed out to Vohmann, 3-2.

Stork climbed to fourth in the table, just two points behind Hobbs, after going unbeaten with a hat-trick of match wins this week.

As well as beating Maher-Bulbul she was also successful against Holmes, 3-0 and Vohmann, 3-2.   What a great night of pool with a five of the twelve matches going to a decider.
