Blackheath Rugby Club held its sixth Ladies Day recently at its Well Hall ground at Kidbrooke Lane, Eltham, and raised £2,895 for local charity, The South East London Breast Cancer Trust (SELBCT).

The day was organised by Blackheath club members Lisa Maresca-Harmer and Christine Oliver, and included a three-course lunch, served by Club players, before the guests joined supporters to watch the game between Blackheath and Plymouth Albion.

Some lucky ladies were also able to purchase their own personal waiter at auction to look after them for the duration of the day, and a players’ shirt auction was held after the match.

The cheque was presented to Christine Oliver (Trustee & Treasurer of SELBCT) by Blackheath President Des Diamond (pictured far left) and the Club’s Treasurer Rakesh Chhabra.
