Last week eleven ladies showcased their talents at the start of their own SLKPA Ladies Singles League, the first of it's kind in the area and definitely the first to be launched before it's male counterpart.

Some great pool was played by them all but the story of the night was Claire Stork going unbeaten, on four out of four, with a cast on her wrist.

Petrina Pearce was also unbeaten in her four matches as was Kerry Wyatt, but she only played three on the night.

Julie Lancaster only lost one of her four matches, against Kerry to go third in the table.

Angie Hobbs is two places behind Julie, after winning and losing two matches but like Julie she was defeated by Kerry, who separates the other two in the table.

New to the SLKPA, Lynn Mather-Bülbül grabbed a last frame decider against Angie for her only win of the night and Natalie Barnes also lost out in a final frame decider but it was against the unbeaten Petrina, however Natalie was successful in one of her three matches.

Another new girl, Sam Vohmann had a, 3-1 victory over Natalie and was unlucky to come up against an in-form Claire but finished the night on one out of three.

Mimi Cannings, playing in the SLKPA for the first time, lost to team mate Natalie and was unlucky to lose a last frame decider against Julie and finish the night without a win.

Donna had three tough matches, playing three of the ladies who finished the night in the top five and came out second best each time.

Jade Holmes is the strongest player in the league, propping up all the others but she did come up against an on fire Julie and her team captain, Angie.

Despite finishing winless, we should give Jade some credit, as she was upbeat and being from the Happy Hustlers, happy, in all of her games.

All eleven ladies should be proud of what they achieved, kicking off the inaugural SLKPA Ladies Singles League, we're sure it will go from strength to strength.
