The business end of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance winter season and as well as the line up for the final of the Founders Cup being determined, we also know who has won promotion or not in the divisional play-offs.

Rose Inn finished third in Division Two after winning eight matches throughout the season and they faced North Heath Social Club, who found themselves third from bottom in the first division, after the same amount of victories.

The lower division side were without, arguably their best player, Dean Greany-Parr but still took the first set by 3 frames to 2.

In the second set North Heath’s mistakes were punished by Rose Inn, taking it, 4-1 meaning they only needed one frame to gain promotion.

Akar Necati delayed that with the first frame of the last set but it was only a partial delay, as Ben Main won the next frame to give Rose Inn the, 8-4 victory.

Rose Inn’s Jake Keir was the only unbeaten player on the night, winning both of his frames.

The other play-off, between Falconwood Social and Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, for the right to play in the Premier Division next season was a more straight forward affair.

Falconwood won the first three frames before Rack Pack replied, with Falconwood going on to take the first set, 4-1, however it could have been a very different story, as Rack Pack missed opportunities to clear the table.

They never recovered from this setback, losing the first four frames of the second set to give Falconwood a, 8-1 triumph.

The only winner for Rack Pack was, Ernst Wellhausen but Falconwood’s Elliot Giles, Leighton Aston and Steve Dixon all won both their frames and Alex Biggs and Ben Creffield won their only frame to ensure they continued to play Premier Division pool next season.

It was a good night for the Falconwood, as their other team, Falconwood Club won their Founders Cup semi-final against Bellegrove Social Club to book their place in the final.

The Division One champions pushed the fourth placed Premier Division side virtually all the way to show they’ll be no push over when they join the division next season.

Falconwood won the first two sets, 3-2 to take a, 6-4 lead into the final set and when Paul Elford won his third frame of the night to make it, 7-4 it looked like plain sailing.

However, Martin Luff won his second of the night and Steve Knight secured his hat-trick to bring Bellegrove to within a frame.

Falconwood’s Captain, Stacy Redman finally brought the victory home with a controlled clearance in the fourteenth frame, to make the final score, 8-6.

This was Bellegrove’s first defeat of the season in all competitions and they will play Sharks, who were unbeaten in the league this season, in next week’s League Cup Final.

Falconwood will play Hustlers A in next week’s final, after they demolished Eltham Terrace Nuthouse, 8-3.

The first set was quite close, with Hustlers just edging it, 3-2 but Hustlers won the first four frames of the second set, with Jon Syta forcing the match into the final set by winning the last frame for his unbeaten brace.

Micky Clayton won the eleventh frame to make the score, 8-3 in Hustlers favour and put them in the final.

It was a wonderful all round team performance with, Jordan O’Connor, Bruno Silva and Joe Kane all winning their only frame and Tony Gear and Adam Coppen both victorious in both of theirs.
