Eltham Terrace Club A are sitting pretty at the top of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Premier Division, after a superb victory over the current champions, Bellegrove to notch up their seventh win of the season and remain unbeaten.

The damage was done in the first set, whitewashing it, 5-0 with Mark Eldridge performing a total clearance from a dry break.

However Bellegrove fought back hard to take the next two sets by 3 frames to 2, with Clive Black taking out a break and dish in the last set but it was not enough to win the match, as it finished, 9-6 to Terrace.

Dave Rawlinson and Dan Foley were unbeaten for the league leaders, both winning two frames.

Terrace now have a nine point lead at the top after Hustlers A scored a huge victory over another team from the Terrace, Eltham Terrace Rovers.

Hustlers were in control from start to finish winning the first set 4-1, the second 3-2 and the last 5-0 for an overall 12-3 victory.

It wasn’t just a bad night for the Rovers but Lee Osborn in particular, as he was dished from a dry break in the first set by Tony Gear and broke and dished in the second set by Bruno Silva.

Not only did Gear produce his dish but he also went onto win all three of his frames, as did Naftali Ayieko in a personal battle with Darren Porter, with Adam Coppen also unbeaten in his only frame.

Also winning 12-3 and just three points behind Hustlers are Pickwick, who beat Crayford Social Club Rugrats to confine them to the bottom of the table.

It was a brilliant all round team performance, as Pickwick ran riot, with all their players scoring a hat-trick, Paul Gafa, Mark Brinkley, Billy Levingbird and Martin Storey all winning their three frames but Paul Slater lost his three.

Hotshots are two points behind Pickwick after this week’s result against Eltham Terrace Nuthouse.

Andre Cox got Hotshots off to a perfect start with a break and dish in the first frame and they went onto win the set by 4 frames to 1 but Nuthouse reversed that score in the second set to make it all square going into the final set.

The first two frames were shared but Hotshots won the next two to take the match, before Nuthouse Captain Craig Jones took the final frame to make it a respectable, 8-7 in Hotshots favour.

Not only did Cox perform a break and dish in the first set, he went onto win all three frames, as did Jon Syta for Nuthouse.

The final game in the division was an all Falconwood affair, as Falconwood Club took on Falconwood Social and it was the home side who started better, taking a 5-1 lead.

However, like most of their games this season they were pegged back and the score at the end of the second set was, 6-4 to Falconwood Club.

The final set also went in their favour, but only just by the odd frame, 3-2 to give them an overall, 9-6 victory.

Steve Dixon was superb for Falconwood Social, winning all three of his frames, with Dean James equally as good for Falconwood Club, also scoring three out of three and Kieran Evans was unbeaten as well with two frame wins.

Falconwood Club are now fifth with Falconwood Social ninth and eighteen points between them.

There were massive wins for all the teams triumphant on Thursday in SLKPA Division Two this week.

The division leaders, Sharks made it six out of six, scoring more than ten frames in each match, after beating Rose Inn, 13-2.

Sharks rattled off the first seven frames before Rose Inn replied with two on the bounce from Dean Greany-Parr and Michael Bunn but they were to win no more as Sharks took the last six frames for a comprehensive victory over one of their nearest rivals.

Eno Idiong, Kevin Dempsey and Jeff Laporte all scored unbeaten hat-tricks for the victors to help them go seventeen points clear at the top.

Coming up on the outside into second place is Bellegrove Flyers, after they beat Greyhound Elite by 11 frames to 4.

Paul Dawson was the inspiration behind the victory, with three frame wins.

The bottom two faced each other this week, as Academicals took on Plumstead Radical Club and the home team’s, 12-3 triumph leapfrogged them over Greyhound into fifth.

Radical Club didn’t do themselves any favours by turning up with only four players but take nothing away from Academicals, who produced a magnificent team performance to win each set, 4-1 for an overall, 12-3 score line.

Academicals had a hat-trick of hat-tricks with Gary Mason, Dean Williams and Nick Morris all winning three frames and they were supported by Chris Bracey, who lived up to his name and bagged an unbeaten brace, including yet another victory without potting the black, his sixth of the season.

After winning their first three matches, Rose Inn have had a nightmare couple of weeks and suffered the rarity of two defeats in a week, after losing their rearranged fixture against Fox & Hounds earlier in the week.

Fox took an early, 4-1 lead and went onto take the second set, 3-2 for an overall, 7-3 lead, however Rose won the next four frames to tie the match at seven all and send it to a final frame decider.

It was apt that the two captains met to decide the match and was the Fox’s Kerry Wyatt who got the better of Neil Mundy to win her third frame of the night to give her team the, 8-7 triumph.

Greany-Parr also scored three out of three for Rose Inn.

The two teams are now third and fourth in the table, with Rose Inn eight points behind Fox & Hounds.

Bellegrove Social Club make it seven out of seven with a victory over their nearest rivals, CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s to stay top of SLKPA Division One by just three points.

CSC looked like they were going to inflict Bellegrove’s first defeat, winning the first two sets 3-2 but Bellegrove won the first two frames of the last set to tie the match at six all.

Lee Bushell put CSC back in the lead but Sam Bedingham-Pearce equalised again, sending the match into a final frame decider, with Bellegrove keeping it in the family, as Steve Pearce won it to give his team the narrow 8-7 victory.

With the match being so close, there were no unbeaten players but many ended up with two wins out of three including Steven Aldridge, Luke Matthews and Lee Bushell for CSC as well as Bellegrove’s Steve Pearce, Sam Bedingham-Pearce, Steve Knight and Dave Jandu.

North Heath Social Club faced Bellegrove’s other team, Bellegrove A and it was another 8-7 result.

Bellegrove had a 7-5 lead but North Heath equalised before Paul Baker won the final frame to give North Heath the victory.

Steve Hughes won all three frames for Bellegrove, as did Pat Melia, who did so and finished on the losing side for the second week running, with Nathan Lampen the only other Bellegrove winner.

After this result North Heath are only two points behind their opponents.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack are now two points ahead of Bellegrove in fourth after a 10-5 triumph over Foots Cray Social Club.

Steve Heather got Rack Pack off to a perfect start, winning the opening frame, the first of his two frames by 7-balling his opponent.

Rack Pack’s Dan O’Rourke and Jamie Walkey were both unbeaten, winning two and three frames respectively.

Glenmore Arms stay in third, four points ahead of Rack Pack, after being awarded a walkover win by Royal Oak Adicks.
