A Paralympic swimmer from Greenwich clinched her first gold medal yesterday at Rio, taking Team GB's tally to 63 on day five of the games.
Susie Rodgers set a personal best and a European record in the s7 50m butterfly last night, with a time of 35.07 seconds.
The 33-year-old clasped her hand to her mouth in shock as she realised she had done enough to secure her first gold medal at her second Paralympic games.
She Radio 5 Live: “I can’t believe I’ve done that. I wasn’t going to carry on after London 2012.”
Team GB's medal haul currently stands at 63, with 28 of them gold after a host of successes in the pool yesterday.

Ellie Simmonds was crowned a five-time Paralympic champion after winning a second successive SM6 200 metres individual medley title.
The 21-year-old, whose first Paralympic titles came as a 13-year-old in Beijing, won in a world record time, becoming the first in her category to go under three minutes for the event.
Sascha Kindred endured a rollercoaster of a day before digging deep to win his seventh gold and 13th medal at his sixth Paralympics in the men's SM6 200m.
The 38-year-old from Hereford was disqualified following the morning heats, but reinstated after an appeal, and went on to win in a world record, moments before Simmonds delivered too.
