Eight young stars from Nemesis Gym won gold or silver medals for England in the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) World Championships last month.

First up to the ring in Stuttgart were World Championship debutants Cady Anderson and Melynie Walborn who achieved two second place wins in the 9-10 age groups.

Amy Brown, Phoebe Llot and Tawab Mousavi, who were also experiencing the world stage for the first time, all beat their opponents to be named World Champions in the 42kg, 62kg and 74kg categories.

Ella March reached the final and finished with a silver medal, while 12-year-old Megan Pearce, the reigning world champions having come out on top in Italy in 2014, was victorious once again in the 11-12 age group.

Molly Walborn, who previously won two silver medals, then won gold in the U39kg category.

Nemesis owner, Michael Tekti, said: “I am so proud of every team member who competed in the World Championships, they were all amazing.

“Their courage, hard work and determination clearly paid off as each and every one of them returned home with a medal.”

Nicola King, centre manager of Erith Riverside Shopping Centre, added: “Congratulations to everyone at Nemesis Gym, it’s fantastic to know that Erith youngsters are representing our country at world championship level.”
