After three weeks of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance summer season Eltham Terrace Club A narrowly beat Glenmore Arms B to become the only unbeaten team left in the Elite League.

Saying that they did it the hard way again, losing the first set 3-2 and going down in the first frame of the second set but then the comeback started and they reeled off the next seven frames to win the second set, 4-1 and take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the final set.

The last two frames were shared, with Steve Pearce recovering from last week’s bout of ill health to perform an unorthodox dish from a dry break in the last frame to give Eltham the 2-1 & 10-5 victory.

Dan Vowles won all three of his frames to help keep Eltham’s unbeaten run intact and replace their opponents in second place.

Staying top are Bellegrove, despite sharing the points against Falconwood Club, which puts them one place behind Eltham Terrace.

Bellegrove started the stronger, taking the first set by 4 frames to 1, with Falconwood’s one coming from a break and dish by Alex Lawrence.

Falconwood fought back and won the next two sets, 3-2 with Lawrence dealing out another break and dish to make the final score, 2-1 in sets to Falconwood and 8-7 in frames to Bellegrove.

Hotshots join Falconwood in equal third after beating their other side, Falconwood Social, 2-1 & 9-6.

Falconwood got out of the blocks quicker, taking the first set, 3-2 but Hotshots bounced back and won the second set, 4-1 and went on to take the final set, 3-2.

After his unbeaten night last week, Hotshots Captain, Andre Cox was also unbeaten this week with a hat-trick and he was joined by Danny Kelliher with Neil Hall finishing on a brace.

Pickwick picked up their first win of the season in style and rooted Royal Oak Addicks to the bottom in the process, with a 3-0 & 13-2 victory.

Their top division experience showed against Addicks, in their first season in the top flight, as they won the first nine frames to have the match sewn up within the first two sets.

The Pickwick Captain used the full squad that was available to him, giving Paul Dawson, Dean James, Allan Formosa, George Hammond and Martin Storey all two frame wins, wit Paul Gafa winning his only frame.

The Addicks have Adam Newbrooke to thank for preventing the whitewash as he won two out of three frames, Addicks only frames of the night.

With Bellegrove riding high at the top of the Elite League, Bellegrove Social Club are also top of SLKPA Tier Two West, after beating Eltham Terrace Nuthouse, 3-0 & 12-3 to remain unbeaten for the season without dropping a set.

The standout performers for Bellegrove were Sam Bedingham-Pearce and Jason Brunton, who both won all three of their frames.

Also still unbeaten for the season but only just are Eltam Terrace Rovers, who narrowly beat Pickwick Academicals.

They won the first set, 3-2 but Academicals matched that in the second to go into the final set all square.

The match continued in this vein, as the final set went to two frames all before Ryan Francis won his third frame of the night to give Rovers the 2-1 & 8-7 triumph.

Despite the defeat Donna-Marie Mullins was proud of her team’s great battling performance, especially Paul Thomas and Gary Mason who both won two of their three frames.

Fox & Hounds have had an up and down season so far with a win and loss to their name and this game epitomised that.

They took a 4-1 lead against Greyhound Elite only to be pegged back by the same score in the second set before taking the final set, again by 4 frames to 1 for an overall score of, 2-1 & 9-6.

Not only was it a battle for the two teams but Fox’s Kerry Wyatt and Greyhound’s Kevin Sace had their own personal battle, meeting each other in each set, with Wyatt just edging it, 2-1.

Alan Dolan was the top performer on the night, winning all three of his frames to put the Foxes into third.

Just like Tier Two West, the top two in SLKPA Tier Two East are unbeaten.

North Heath Social Club remain top despite only having four players and sharing the points against Eltham Terrace Rack Pack.

The division leaders raced to a 2-0 & 6-4 lead but the Rack Pack dug deep and took the last set, 4-1 to give them an overall frame lead by 8 frames to 7 but North Heath won the match, 2-1 in sets.

Rack Pack have shared the points in all three of their games so far this season, which puts them in third place despite not actually winning a game yet.

Royal Oak also only had four players and managed to win to stay unbeaten in second place.

Each set was won, 3-2 against Bellegrove A to give them a 3-0 & 9-6 triumph.

John Cochrane was the star performer, winning two of his three frames.

The bottom two faced each other as Glenmore Arms took on Crayford Social Club Rugrats and it was the home side that got off to the better start, winning the first set, 3-2.

Rugrats woke up in the second set, whitewashing it 5-0 and they continued this form into the last set, taking it 4-1 for an overall 2-1 & 11-4 victory.

Rugrats have Steve Gibson and Shane Burnett to thank for keeping them in the match, as they both won in the first set and went on to finish with unbeaten hat-tricks.

Rising Sun have opened up a six point lead at the top of SLKPA Tier Three after only three matches.

This week they beat Crayford Social Club 2 by 3 sets to 0 and 10 frames to 5, to remain unbeaten at the top of the table.

Also unbeaten are Rose Inn but they have only played two matches and are third after beating Orpington Sports Club this week.

It was a close game but Rose Inn just edged it, with Jake Keir winning the deciding frame in the final set to give his team the 2-1 & 8-7 win.

Ben Main played his first match for the victors and they will hope he plays many more after he won both his frames.

Plumstead Radical Club picked up their first win in the SLKPA with a 3-0 & 10-5 triumph over Bellegrove Flyers.
