Now the South London & Kent Pool Alliance winter league is over we turn our attention to the knock out competition, The Founders Cup and league champions, Bellegrove were looking for the double but they faced league runners-up, O'Connors in the semi final.

It was a tough match that almost went to the wire but Micky Clayton won a scrappy last frame to win the match, 8-6 and put O'Connors into the final thus preventing Bellegrove from doing the league and cup double.

The other semi final was played by the teams that finished fifth and sixth, as Eltham Terrace Club A took on Pickwick.

It was another close, hard fought game, as it was tied at five all after two sets had been played but Eltham won the first three frames of the final set to win the match, 8-5 and fire themselves into the final.

Paul Shrimpton was on form for Eltham, winning both his frames but his team mate, Dave Rawlinson was unplayable, by completing a hat-trick which included two break and dishes.

So next week's final at Eltham Terrace will be between O'Connors and Eltham Terrace Club A, who will be looking to gain revenge after suffering two league defeats against them.

Also played this week were the divisional play-offs, keeping the excitement going right through to the end.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack had lost out to Eltham Terrace Nuthouse for automatic promotion to the Premier Division and now face Eltham Terrace Rovers, who finished third bottom in the top division.

Rovers got off to the better start, taking the first set by 4 frames to 1 but Rack Pack staged a comeback in the second, winning it 3-2, making the score 6-4 in Rovers favour.

Rovers took the first frame of the final set and their Captain, Darren Porter finished the game off with his hat-trick to keep them in the Premier Division with an 8-4 score.

The other play-off was between Pickwick Academicals from Division One and Division Two's Glenmore Arms 2.

Glenmore won their play-off spot via the controversial eliminator and their great end of season form continued, as they raced to a 7-3 lead, before Lewis Hearn sealed Academicals relegation with an 8-3 triumph.
