The pressures of the league took a back seat in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance this week, as the Founders Cup entered the quarter final stage.

Pickwick kept up their unbeaten run in 2016 but were fortunate as they had to battle back from 7-4 down to win the match 8-7 against Crayford Social Club Rugrats.

It was a long scrappy affair but there was a nice finish from Dean James in frame twelve to kickstart the comeback.

Martin Storey played well for his two out of three and he was joined on the same score by Paul Gafa, whose brace included the final frame decider to put the Pickwick into the semi final.

Despite the loss Rugrats went away with two unbeaten players, Alan Enever won his two frames but Ian Cruwys went one better with a hat-trick.

The other all Premier Division tie went to O'Connors, who beat one place below them in the table, Falconwood Club by 8 frames to 4.

Bellegrove A from Division Two played thirteen places above them, Eltham Terrace Club A and initially gave a good account of themselves, only losing the first set, 3-2 with Jon Syta recording a break and dish for them.

After that Eltham's quality showed and they won five of the next six frames to win the match 8-3.

Dave Rawlinson was the only unbeaten player on the night, with an unbeaten brace.

There was another gulf in quality, as the Premier Division's Bellegrove outclassed Royal Oak Addicks from Division One, by 8 frames to 1.

SLKPA Division Two turned their attention to the controversial knockout eliminator, with both ties going with the league positions.

The matches were tight and both ended 8-6, with Crayford Social Club 2 beating Foots Cray Social Club and Glenmore Arms 2 victorious against Greyhound Elite.
