The top two teams in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Premier Division, Hotshots and Bellegrove faced each other this week with Bellegrove coming out on top , in more ways than one.

It was a close match, played in a great spirit and sportsmanlike manner, where the skill of the players on each side really shone through and showed what the SLKPA is all about.

All three sets were won by the same 3-2 score line, with Bellegrove grabbing them all for a 9-6 victory overall.

Despite the loss, Hotshots Neil Hall finished unbeaten on three out of three.

This result means that Bellegrove replace Hotshots at the top of the table with Hotshots four points behind in fourth.

Falconwood Club have leapt into second but are on the same points as Bellegrove after a 10-5 win over Eltham Terrace Club A.

The match was a lot closer than the score suggests, as Falconwood took the first two sets by the odd frame, 3-2 but they could quite easily have gone to Eltham.

The final set followed the pattern of the others with most of the frames very much in the balance but Falconwood won the set by four frames to one.

Paul Elford put in a Captain's performance for the victors with three out of three frame wins and he was joined by Eltham's Shane Hutley on the same score.

In third and one point behind the top two are O'Connors after a hard fought victory against Eltham Terrace Rovers.

O'Connors won the first set, 3-2 but Rovers reversed that in the second to tie the match at five all.

The match was secured by O'Connors in the first three frames of the last set before Rovers won the fourth and O'Connors the fifth for an overall 9-6 victory, however Rovers had their chances and it could have gone the other way.

Ryan Francis and Adam Coppen faced each other twice, with Francis only having one visit over the two frames and that was a dry break in their first frame, which Coppen cleared up from, then in the final frame he performed a break and dish.

Tony Gear also managed a break and dish in his third frame after two previous losses.

Naftali Ayieko won his only frame for O'Connors and his team mate Micky Clayton was also unbeaten on three frame wins.

Pickwick were triumphant in the bottom of the table battle against North Heath Social Club and join Rovers on 82 points but go above them.

The marathon match didn't look like it was going to go Pickwick's way as North Heath lead from the start but with the score at seven all, Pickwick won the final frame to steal the victory.

It was hard to pick out any player for praise, with many players winning two of their three frames but Akar Necati made an excellent clearance in frame six.

Glenmore Arms A are four points behind Pickwick and Rovers and five points ahead of North Heath after their recent loss against Crayford Social Club Rugrats.

Rugrats 9-6 victory puts them just seven points behind Eltham Terrace A and nine points ahead of Pickwick and Rovers.

It's a good time to be at the Bellegrove, as both Bellegrove Social Club and Bellegrove A secured victories to safeguard the top two positions in SLKPA Division Two.

Bellegrove A won 9-6 against Glenmore Arms 2 to hold onto second place, with Bellegrove Social Club staying top with a 10-5 win over Crayford Social Club 2.

Patrick Melia was the inspiration for the Social Club with an unbeaten hat-trick.

Greyhound Elite picked up their first win of the season, albeit by default as Foots Cray Social Club couldn't field a team.
