Twelve weeks have passed in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance and it is still difficult to separate the top four teams in the Premier Division, as there is only one point between them.

After a poor first half of the season, Pickwick have made it three out of three in 2016 and halted Hotshots unbeaten league season.

After losing their first match of the season in the cup last week, Hotshots had off the field matters to contend with and Pickwick made the most of the opportunity, inflicting a 10-5 defeat on them.

Pickwick picked off their opponents and produced an amazing performance, with George Hammond, Martin Storey and Paul Dawson all winning both their frames.

Allan Formosa followed up his unbeaten hat-trick last week with another this, which included some fine doubles.

Bellegrove took full advantage of Hotshots slip up by beating Eltham Terrace Club A by 11 frames to 4 to go top of the table by just one point.

There were lots of great performances by the Bellegrove but by far the stand out performer was George Covington, who produced two break and dishes in winning all three of his frames.

Not wanting to feel left out, Craig Mallinder also won all three frames but he only managed one break and dish and Tony Halpin made an awesome clearance from a dry break.

Falconwood Club have joined their opponents, O'Connors and Hotshots, one point behind Bellegrove, with Falconwood and O'Connors in third and fourth respectively.

Falconwood took an early 3-0 lead but after that it was a very close game that went to a deciding frame.

We all need a little bit of luck now and then and Falconwood's came at just the right time, as they fluked their final colour and landed perfectly on the black to win the match 8-7.

Barry Barham was the player of the night, with an unbeaten hat-trick, including a magnificent break and dish.

There's also a battle going on in the lower half of the table, with ten points between sixth and ninth place.

Bottom of the table, North Heath Social Club increased their chances of survival with an 8-7 victory over Crayford Social Club Rugrats, in sixth.

It was an exciting match, with the first two sets going to a deciding frame, which the Rugrats took for a 6-4 lead but North Heath turned it round in the final set, winning it 4-1 for an overall 8-7 triumph.

Captain Dave Selby and Pat Deehy both won all three of their frames for the victors.

In the other lower half clash, Glenmore Arms A must have thought this match was going to go the same way as the last one between these sides, when they won the first frame against Eltham Terrace Rovers.

They did take the first set, 3-2 but Rovers bounced back in the second, winning it 4-1 before claiming the last set, 3-2 for a much needed 9-6 victory overall.

Dean Rider was the only unbeaten player with three out of three frame wins.

Not only are Bellegrove top of the Premier Division but their other two teams hold the top spots in SLKPA Division Two.

Bellegrove A piled the pressure on Bellegrove Social Club at the top of the division, with a 9-6 victory over Greyhound Elite, to go five points behind their sister side.

The result wasn't the forgone conclusion that everyone expected considering the 33 point gap between the teams at the start of the night.

Bellegrove took a two frame lead but were stunned by Greyhound, who won the set 3-2.

Greyhound won the first frame of the next set but Bellegrove woke up and took the next five frames to leave them within one of victory.

They went on to get not one but two more frames to finish 9-6 winners.

Kevin Sayce was in great form for Greyhound, winning half of his team's frames, with Stephen Craig also taking all three frames for Bellegrove and Terry Mitchell and Jon Syta were one behind, with two out of three.

It was a long night at Foots Cray Social Club but they made it worth their while, with an 8-7 victory over Glenmore Arms 2 to reduce the deficit between the teams to one point.

Eltham Terrace Nuthouse must have been kicking themselves, after leading virtually the whole way against SLKPA Division One leaders Falconwood Social.

They won the first set, 3-2 but Falconwood reversed that in the second, before Nuthouse took the first two frames of the last set, however Falconwood equalised again.

The match went into a final frame decider which the division leaders nicked, for an 8-7 victory.

Shane O'Reilly's wonderful form continued with three out of three and he was joined by Captain, Craig Jones, whose hat-trick included a break and dish.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack made the most of Falconwood's slender victory by recording a massive 12-3 win over bottom team Fox & Hounds to close the gap at the top to 26 points.

Rack Pack had three unbeaten players, Chris Gaunt who won two frames but Ernie Wellhausen and Dan O'Rourke went one better with three frame wins each.

Royal Oak Addicks have finally got one over their local rivals Pickwick Academicals, recording a 10-5 win.

The Levingbird's, Donna and Billy kept Academicals in the match early on, being the only players to win a frame in the first and second set respectively but the team picked themselves up in the third set, taking it 3-2.

It was an important win for the Addicks, as it now puts them four points ahead of their rivals.
