The top two teams in the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Premier Division met this week and Hotshots were victorious to keep up their unbeaten start to the season.

Hotshots didn't have it all their own way though, as Bellegrove won the first two sets 3-2 to take a 6-4 lead in to the final set.

The league leaders won the first two frames of the last set to tie the match and Tony Wilson performed a break and dish in the next frame to put Hotshots in the lead for the first time in the game.

They went on to win the next frame to secure the victory, before Bellegrove won the last frame to make the final score 8-7 in Hotshots favour.

Neil Hall also performed a dish from a dry break for the victors.

This win now makes them the only unbeaten side left in the SLKPA.

Bellegrove drop to third after O'Connors record an 11-4 victory over Eltham Terrace Rovers.

It was a close match to start with, as the first set went one way then the other, with Rovers nicking it 3-2.

But it all fell apart after that as Rovers only won one more frame out of the next ten to give O'Connors the win.

Despite the large margin of victory there were only two unbeaten players, James Sheed and Adam Coppen.

Pickwick picked up their first win of the season to lift themselves off the bottom, with their opponents, North Heath Social Club replacing them.

There was a fight for each frame and it was all square after ten frames but Pickwick's experience showed in the final set, taking all five frames for a 10-5 victory.

Martin Storey was the inspiration behind the triumph, with an unbeaten hat-trick.

Crayford Social Club Rugrats won by the odd frame, 8-7 against Glenmore Arms A, with Shane Burnett winning all three of his frames and Alan Enever both of his.

The win leapfrogs Rugrats over their opponents by just a point and just one point behind Pickwick.

Also finishing 8-7 was the match between Eltham Terrace Club A and Falconwood Club.

It was a hard fought affair which could have gone either way and each set was won by the odd frame, 3-2.

Falconwood took the first two sets but Eltham came back in the last, however it wasn't enough and Falconwood were the 8-7 winners.

The highlight of the match for Falconwood was Declan Kelly's break and dish in the first set, for the third time this season.

Dave Rawlinson did his best to turn the game around for Eltham, with his third three out of three of the season. The competitiveness of the SLKPA, that was noted in last week's article was prevalent again this week, as seven of the eleven fixtures finished 8-7, including every match in Division One.

The top two, Falconwood Social and Royal Oak Addicks also met in this division, with Falconwood losing their unbeaten start to the season.

It was a very close game, played in good spirits, with each set being won by the odd frame, Addicks taking the first two and Falconwood the last, giving the Addicks the 8-7 victory.

The small margin of Addicks victory didn't really eat in to Falconwood's lead at the top though, only cutting it down to eleven points.

Just four points behind Addicks now are Fox & Hounds, after their 8-7 win over Eltham Terrace Nuthouse, Nuthouse Captain described his team's performance as a disgrace, after managing to lose the match from a 7-2 lead.

As a result Nuthouse are only one off the bottom, where their sister side, Eltham Terrace Rack Pack currently sit.

They were beaten this week, 8-7 by Pickwick Academicals, who have gone up to fourth.

It was a good all round team performance from Academicals, with Dean Williams winning both his frames, Gary Mason two of his three and Angela Hobbs one of her two.

Dan O'Rourke did his best to prevent the defeat by winning all three of his frames for the Rack Pack.

Bellegrove A lost their place at the top of SLKPA Division Two due to their free week and Foots Cray Social Club's massive 12-3 victory over bottom team, Royal Oak B.

Crayford Social Club 2 jump into third place, after beating Greyhound Elite by 10 frames to 5.

Glenmore Arms 2 have closed the gap between them and their opponents, Bellegrove Social Club to five points, with an 8-7 win over them. For more information on the SLKPA including league tables visit our website at www.slkpa.com or contact our Secretary Paul Gafa on 07443 456662 with any queries.
