This week the South London & Kent Pool Alliance returned for it's eleventh winter season, after finishing in the last sixteen, their best ever performance, at the National Inter-League Finals last weekend.

The early leaders in the Premier Division are Eltham Terrace Club A, who had the biggest win of the week, 10-5 over Crayford Social Club Rugrats.

Eltham initially inflicted the damage in the first set, taking it 4-1 but Rugrats battled back and took the second set, 3-2 before Eltham won the final set by the same score as the first.

The summer season singles champion, Dave Rawlinson won all three of his frames for Eltham and the beaten finalist, his team mate Ben McIntosh was also unbeaten with two frame wins, along with Paul Shrimpton.

Eltham's new signing, Mark Eldridge also got off to winning ways with a victory in his first frame back in the SLKPA.

Rugrats Captain, Scott Shephard and Steve Gibson did their best to keep the score respectful by winning two of their three frames.

Last winter season's champions, O'Connors were beaten by the summer champions, Bellegrove by 9 frames to 6.

Also winning 9-6 were Hotshots, who were victorious over Eltham Terrace Rovers.

Rovers looked like they might cause an upset, taking the first set, 3-2 but Hotshots returned the favour in the second set.

The match was level at 5 frames all going into the final set then Hotshots rattled off the first three frames to secure the match but Rovers pulled one back before Hotshots took the final frame.

Inter-League players carried their great form over in to this match, with Ryan Francis dishing his Inter-League team mate Danny Kelliher, on his way to two wins out of three along with Rovers other Inter-League players, Dean Rider and Darren Porter but Hotshots Inter-League representatives Andre Cox and Richard Chapman were unbeaten with two frame wins, as was Neil Hall.

The match between Pickwick and Falconwood Club was another to finish 9-6, with the away side triumphant.

They took a fortunate 5-0 lead in the first set with the Pickwick feeling hard done by as they did little wrong but they took this in to the second set, winning it 4-1.

Declan Kelly broke and dished in the first frame of the final set, for his hat-trick, which kickstarted a run of three frames to go 9-4 up and clinch the match.

Pickwick picked the last two frames with Paul Gafa dishing in the last frame.

The final game of the division saw newly promoted, Glenmore Arms A play hosts to North Heath Social Club.

the match went to a final frame decider, which Brett Crawley won with his third frame win of the night to give North Heath the 8-7 victory.

Crawley joined Captain Dave Selby on a hat-trick, with Akar Necati winning his team's other two frames.

Falconwood Social have got off to a great start to the season, opening up a three point lead at the top of SLKPA Division One, after beating Eltham Terrace Nuthouse by 12 frames to 3.

Falconwood were the quicker out of the blocks, whitewashing the first set,5-0 but Nuthouse staged a mini comeback in the second set, only going down 3-2, then Falconwood stepped it up again in the last set, taking it 4-1.

It was a brilliant all round team performance with, Steve Dixon, Tony Stork, Leighton Aston and Elliot Giles all unbeaten on two out of two and Captain Trevor Biggs won his only frame.

Craig Jones and Shane O'Reilly were the only winners for the Nuthouse, with two and one frame win respectively.

In the summer season Pickwick Academicals finished bottom, 23 points behind division champions, Royal Oak Addicks but that meant nothing this week as Academicals won by 8 frames to 7.

It was an amazing result for Academicals with young gun, Billy Levingbird winning two of his three frames and his mum Donna one of her two frames and she was joined by new signing Angela Hobbs.

Dean Williams won the match for Academicals after his second frame win of the night to remain unbeaten.

Eltham Terrace Rack Pack were relegated from the Premier Division and their poor form continued as they were beaten by Fox & Hounds 9-6.

Rack Pack took the first set, 3-2 with Fox reversing that score in the second, then the next two frames were shared, keeping the match tied at six all but Fox went on to take the last three frames for the match.

The only unbeaten player on the night was Clive Forrest for Fox, winning all three of his frames.

Greyhound Elite were the big winners in SLKPA Division Two, beating newcomers Royal Oak B, 11-4.

The whole team played well, with Kevin Sayce, James Fickling and Lewis Brind all unbeaten, winning two frames each and Billy Russell won his only frame.

There was mixed emotions from the two Bellegrove teams in this division, as one lost and the other won.

The happier of the two were Bellegrove A, who ran out 9-6 winners over Crayford Social Club 2.

Bellegrove's Stephen Craig and Nathan Lampen both scored unbeaten hat-tricks and Keith Smith was close behind, with two out of three frame wins.

Bellegrove Social Club didn't have much to cheer about, as they narrowly lost to new team Foots Cray Social Club.

Bellegrove won the first set, 3-2 but Foots Cray turned that around, winning the second set by the same score.

The first four frames of the last set were shared sending the match in to a final frame decider and Jamie Phillips stepped up to steal the match, 8-7 for the new boys.

Steve Carpenter was playing his first ever match in the SLKPA and he'll hope they are all like this as he won all three of his frames and Neil Wilson was also unbeaten, winning both his frames.
