Karting:

Bromley karter Jack McCarthy clinched the national Super One championship title with a mature drive in the series finale in Lincolnshire last Sunday.

The 15-year old’s latest success followed the European title he claimed earlier in the month, and he now has his sights set on becoming the world number one in Portugal this November.

The Ravens Wood pupil said: “I looked up into the grandstand and could see all the team’s mechanics jumping up and down.

“Everyone was very happy and excited – as I came back into the pits people were hugging and congratulating me.”

Gymnastics:

Gravesend’s Meapa Gymnastic Club shone at the South East Region competition at Guildford’s Spectrum Centre.

Chelsea Ervin took the gold medal in Level 6, before Jodie Graves was crowned as the Level 4 Champion receiving an overall gold medal.

Graves also won a team silver with Charlotte Boniface, Ruby Bates and Chrystal Touch.

Poppy Morrison secured an individual bronze medal in Level 3 as well as team gold with Maddie Roberts and Amber Freeman.

Finally, Caitlyn Firth, Rebecca Kalli, Jenna Pratt and Jessica Lawrence claimed another team gold in Level 2.

Golf: Orpington’s Chelsfield Lakes will host a free junior Golf Festival in the October half-term on Thursday 29th October from 10am.

The club will teach boys and girls under 12 new golf skills, learn friends and have fun. The entire day is free of charge and Chelsfield’s will offer ten juniors free membership until April 2016.

Footgolf: Pembury footgolfer Dan Spice made UK Footgolf Association history with three competition wins in one weekend, including victory at Chelsfield  Lakes on Saturday.
