Old Gravesendians wasted countless opportunities in their season opener against King's College Hospital as the visitors secured a 16-8 victory.
King's College started brightly and were soon ahead through two kickable penalties, which was quickly followed by the game’s opening try.
The hosts began to battle back in the second half, with Greg Humphreys successfully kicking a penalty to reduce the deficit to 11-3, before a try was ruled out due to an offside offence.
Any hopes of a comeback were then dashed, however, as King's took advantage of a turn over to secure a try and extend the visitors’ lead to 16-3.
While the win was now out of sight for Old Gs, a bonus point was at least achieved in the dying seconds as Mark Bishop got on the end of Michael Hodge’s cross field pass to dive over the line.
