Bromley residents Sarah McBride and Peter Li have claimed multiple medals at a dragon boating event held in Canada.

The pair represented Great Britain in the Senior A squad at the 12th IDBF World Championship in Welland, Canada.

Dragon Boating is one of the largest team participation sports in the world, originating in China over two thousand years ago.

Over the event Sarah won three gold medals in the women’s small boat category and Peter won two bronze medals in the open small boat category.

These superb results were the culmination of many months of hard work, training together in a variety of boats at the London Regatta Centre in Docklands and across the country with the rest of the squad.

Other GB squads won silver and bronze medals, while hosts Canada won the nations cup.

Both Sarah and Peter are members of Thames Dragons who train at Royal Albert Dock throughout the year, find out more at www.thamesdragons.com.
