Cyclists from all over the country turned out to test themselves in the first running of Revolve24’s Endurance Cycling Challenge at Swanley’s infamous Brands Hatch.

At 3.8 km long and with 65 metres of gradient to climb every lap Brands Hatch will soon establish itself as the toughest endurance cycling event currently held in Europe.

Starting at 3pm on Saturday, with a massed start, soloists and teams of up to eight people started with a variety of strategies to complete the challenge.

During the course of the night the racing in all categories became tight; the Army Signals A Team were for much of the time only seconds behind the SenseCore Racing Team.

Meanwhile, Chris Hollis (Athlon Sport) and David Stoyle (Bath CC) fought a close battle with eventual winner Julian Rider (Swinnerton Cycles).

Finishing the race on Sunday afternoon, SenseCore Racing Team had prevailed in the overall race and completed 213 laps of the circuit riding 518.2 miles and climbing 45,423 feet.

In the solo category Alimpiada Cassidy managed to pull out a 30 mile advantage over Lorena Jones and finished with 110 Laps and 267 Miles to her name and an amazing 23,485 feet of climbing.

Julian Rider from Cannock Chase prevailed in the men’s category, completing 425.7 miles in 24 hours, climbing 37,319 feet in the process.
