Lewisham super-bantamweight Junior Saeed is going for a knockout in front of the TV cameras next month

Manager Mickey Helliet has agreed a three-year deal with London Live and his promotion at the Camden Centre this evening will be broadcast on London Live (Channel 117 on Sky) on October 2.

Armchair fans will see Saeed have his first fight over the six-round distance, but the 26-year-old believes his opponent won’t hear the final bell.

His previous five wins have all come on points and the ex-amateur star is aiming for a more decisive outcome tonight.

Saeed said: “I haven’t stopped anyone yet as a professional because I’ve been getting a feel for the ring after having a break.

“Now I'm looking to knock people out.

“It didn’t used to bother me,although now I’m fed up of telling people I’m unbeaten but haven’t knocked anyone out yet.

“That's all going to change next month. It’s time I started knocking people out.”

Saeed reckons the coming season will tell him where he is going and is preparing for a make-or-break spell with a new trainer after splitting with Ryan Barrett.

The Lewisham ace is now trained by Richard Sawyer at Amigo’s Gym, where his sparring partners include Archie Sharp.

Sharp has just turned professional after winning a clutch of titles as an amateur and Saeed is benefiting from working alongside him.

He said: “It’s really good sparring. I’ve got someone to spar who's at my level and that’s keeping me on my toes and sharp.

“Archie is a fast, elusive counter puncher who throws shots from all angles and whenever we spar it is competitive.”

Saeed plans to be at his best for what will be his debut in front of the TV cameras.

He said: “This could be great exposure.

“Family and friends come to watch me fight and now I've got the chance to pick up some new supporters from around the country.

“I’ve just got to make sure they like what they see.”

Meanwhile, Bexleyheath’s Sammy Cantwell believes his fans could see him fight for a title this season.

The flyweight looks to extend his unbeaten record to seven fights on October 2 at the Camden Centre on the same card as Saeed.

He’s set to be matched over six rounds and the 27 year-old said: “This is a big season for me.

“I don't think I'm too far away from a title fight, maybe one or two more wins.

“I just need to keep winning and get a few more rounds under my belt.

“My last three fights have ended early and I need to know I can do the rounds at a good pace.

“I haven't had a lot of time in the ring. I only had four amateur bouts and I'm learning my trade the hard way, in the professional ring.”

Cantwell goes into season full of confidence after sparring unbeaten Mitchell Smith.

Smith is the current WBO European super-featherweight champion and Cantwell feels he is a great talent who is going to achieve massive things.

He added: “You have to step up when you spar Mitchell or you get hurt - and that’s how you learn.

“I had to raise my game. It was tough in there with Mitchell, but it brought me on so much.

“It's given me so much confidence AND made me think I'm better than I thought I was."”

Helliet, who manages Cantwell and Saeed, has agreed a three-year deal with London Live to screen 30 of his shows.

And that means millions of armchair fans across the country will be able to watch Cantwell's progress.

He said: “It's good for me and it’s good for Mickey too. He’ s been working 24/7 for years and now he's got what every promoter wants, a TV deal."”
