Wigan Warriors prop forward Taulima Tautai says his team-mates are feeling relaxed about playing at The Den on Saturday.

The Warriors take on French side Catalan Dragons at the home of Millwall in a bid to grow the club’s fan-base in the capital.

On the London Calling project, Tautai admitted: “We are quite relaxed about it.

“I think we went into the game unprepared when we last played them away in France earlier on in the season.

“They gave it to us and got the win but I think after our performance against Warrington shows that we’re in a good position now to really play our best football.

“The fact of us playing in London doesn’t really change anything for us.

“I think it is good publicity for the game, the club and the sport.”

Due to the Challenge Cup Final being played at Wembley last week, Wigan had a free weekend but remained in training to prepare for Saturday’s crunch crash.

“We just fine-tuned a couple of things,” Tautai added.

“I think all the boys needed it, we came in feeling fresh with a couple more sessions before the game so now, I am just really looking forward to it.

“There is no such thing as an actual week off here because we always want to improve and take ourselves to the next level – we have a reputation to live up to here at Wigan.”

On the Challenge Cup Final, the former NRL star joked: “I didn’t watch it. I was having a barbecue with the kids - that was probably my day off!

“I think being knocked out will definitely motivate us.

“Leeds are a good team but we feel like it should have been us there. I think if we put our best foot forward - I think we can stop them from taking all three trophies.”

Meanwhile, Millwall manager Neil Harris says he has the “utmost respect” for rugby league players as final preparations for Saturda’'s match between Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons at The Den get underway.

It is the first time that a rugby league match has been held in SE16 and Harris, who is an avid follower of the sport, anticipates many Lions fans will make the most of the opportunity to watch the two sides lock horns at The Den.

He told millwallfc.co.uk: “It’s a great occasion and a big day not just for our football club, but also for Wigan Warriors and their fans.

“To be hosting another sporting event at The Den is brilliant for the club and I’m sure there will be a big crowd there on the day to watch what will undoubtedly be a very exciting game.”

Harris added: “I am a big fan of rugby league.

“It is a powerful game with real pace in it and I have the utmost respect for the players, who are true athletes and put their bodies through an enormous amount every time they step out on the pitch.

“Saturday is a great chance for our fans to watch a different sport at The Den and I’m sure there will be a lot of Millwall supporters who want to make the most of the opportunity and be there to experience it.”
