Three horse race for promotion from SLKPA Tier Two West The penultimate week of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance summer season and the race for promotion into the Elite League from Tier Two West couldn't be closer.

The top two are tied on 31 points with third just 2 points behind them and there is only one guaranteed place and a play off place up for grabs.

Glenmore Arms A narrowed the gap between them and the division leaders, Royal Oak Addicks by beating them, 2-1 and 10-5.

It looked like Addicks would bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they won the first set 4-1 but Glenmore bounced back themselves to win nine frames in a row, before Dave Glenwright captured the final frame for Addicks.

It was a good all round team performance for Glenmore with Tony Stevens winning both his frames and Paul Thomas scoring a hat-trick to keep his side in with a chance of promotion.

Bellegrove A capitalise on Addicks second defeat in a row and join them at the top by thrashing Greyhound by 3 sets to 0 and 12 frames to 3.

It was an amazing victory, as Bellegrove whitewashed the first set and should have done the same in the second set but Keith Smith lost the tenth frame.

Bellegrove took the first two frames of the final set for an 11-1 lead overall and 2-0 in the set.

Greyhound battled back to tie the set and could have nicked it but Bellegrove Captain, John Skuza held his nerve to clinch the set.

John Slade and Stephen Craig were both unbeaten with three frame wins.

These two victories have set up an interesting final week, as Bellegrove face Glenmore with the winner taking either the play off spot or the championship.

It was a much closer affair in the final game of the division, where Pickwick Academicals took on Fox & Hounds in Pickwick's last game of the season.

Academicals looked to be going out in style as they took the first two frames but Fox turned it round and won the first set 3-2.

The second set was just as close, with the first four frames shared before Jason Levingbird won the deciding frame to tie the mattch at 1 set and 5 frames all.

Kevin England met Tom Wyatt for the second time and Wyatt won for the second time to put Fox one frame up and Neil Shelton doubled the lead.

Jason Levingbird then pulled one back and Gary Mason won his third frame of the night to tie the match once again and send the match in to a final frame decider.

It was left to captains Donna Levingbird and Kerry Wyatt to fight it out for the win with Wyatt victorious to give her side the 2-1 and 8-7 triumph.

Academicals are already looking forward to next season, where they hope it will be a whole new ball game.

It's also all still to play for in SLKPA Elite League, as two teams are still battling for the title as well as the final relegation spot.

Bellegrove hang on to pole position after a narrow victory against already relegated Eltham Terrace Rovers.

It looked like Bellegrove might run away with it after taking the first two frames but Rovers dug in and upset the form books by winning the next three frames to take the set 3-2.

Rovers made it four in a row with the first frame of the second set but Bellegrove won the next three frames for the set before Rovers took the last frame to tie the match at one all and five all.

clive Black put Bellegrove two frames up with his third frame win of the night, before Rovers pulled one back and Josh Allen looked like equalising but he gave Craig Mallinder a chance and he cleared up.

Paul Williams finished the match off with his second of two frame wins, to give Bellegrove the 2-1 and 9-6 victory.

On this performance, Rovers shouldn't really be going down and they won't be out of the Elite League for long.

Hotshots are still one point behind Bellegrove after they recorded the same 2-1 and 9-6 score against, third placed Eltham Terrace Club A.

They did the damage in the first set, winning it 4-1 and they went on to take the second set 3-2.

Dan Heinink secured the final set for Eltham with a fine clearance in his third frame win of the night.

Also unbeaten for Eltham was Dave Rawlinson, who won his only frame.

Pickwick have been dragged in to the relegation dogfight after going down, 3-0 and 11-4 against O'Connors, who are now safe as a result.

Martin Storey performed a break and dish in frame three for Pickwick but they didn't do enough as a team to save themselves this week.

James Sheed was the star of the show for O'Connors, with an unbeaten hat-trick.

Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats have set up an exciting final week, by beating Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, 2-1 and 10-5 to go just one point behind Pickwick and they play each other next week in a winner takes all match.

Rugrats' Louis Wilbourne returned from holiday and to form with a brilliant three out of three and he was joined by Steve Gibson on the same score.

Even though there is still a week to go, everything is done and dusted in SLKPA Tier Two East, as Plumstead Radical Club Rebels have secured the play off place with a 2-1 and 12-3 victory over Foots Cray Social Club Minions.

The first set saw an upset as Minions came back from 2-1 down to win the set 3-2.

There was no such comeback in the next two sets, as Rebels ran away with it, winning all ten frames.

Despite the opening set setback, it was a great team performance with Tony Stork, Trevor Biggs, Leighton Aston and Paul Doherty all unbeaten on two frame wins.

Falconwood Club already had the championship sewn up but there was no holding back as this week was their last game and they finished the season unbeaten with twelve wins out of twelve.

It wasn't their best performance but they battled out a long match against Bellegrove Social Club to run out 2-1 and 11-4 winners.

Both Kieran Evans and Stacy Redman won three out of three, with Evans winning a tough tactical battle to clinch the final set.

In the final match of the night, Royal Oak beat Glenmore Arms 2 by 2 sets to 1 and 9 frames to 6, to hold on to third place.
