BOXING: Injury forced Sidcup fighter Jamie Andrews to withdraw from Saturday’s scheduled Queensbury Boxing League clash with Reading’s Hamza Akram.

Andrews suffered a broken wrist late last week in one of his final training sessions and admitted the setback had been hard to take so close to the big day.

“Gutted is an understatement, as I was really looking forward to this fight and have been training so hard.

“But once I’m all healed up I’ll be back and hopefully be able to fight him later in the year, with October looking the most likely date.”
