Blackheath remain top of the Kent Cricket League Premier Division despite being forced to settle for a winning draw at Folkestone.

They looked to be in a strong position when opener Tanweer Sikandar (38) was caught by Thomas Jones to put Blackheath 85-2.

A quartet of wickets from Folkestone’s Sam Ireland (4-47) inflicted a major dent in the leaders’ hopes of
setting a winning tally and they were instead bowled out for 197.

But the home side failed to reach the target, with Dipyan Paul (5-37) playing a vital role as Folkestone struggled to a disappointing 163-8.

Hartley (150-3) remain in second after easing to a seven-wicket win at Bexley.

Four wickets apiece from James Thompson (4-31) and James Hockley (4-42) saw Bexley dismissed for 148.

And it took Hartley just 26 overs to wrap up the points thanks largely to the partnership between Nick Hendrie (48) and Charlie Hemphrey (54no).

Beckenham (263-8) just edged out Lordswood (257) to stay third thanks to a bit of magic from Adam Senn.

Senn was up against Daniel Masters but bowled out the home batsman with the penultimate delivery in an exciting encounter which went right to the wire.

Bromley (151) can have few complaints after going down to an eight-wicket drubbing at the hands of Tunbridge Wells (154-2).

Calum Basey (57) tried his best with the bat for Bromley but their bowlers never really caused the hosts any serious problems.
