The final week of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance league season and the top two teams in the Premier Division, O'Connors and Rileys Hotshots were on equal points and playing each other so it was winner takes all.

Hotshots had the chance to take a 2-0 lead but missed easy blacks.

Instead O'Connors seized their opportunities and raced to a 7-2 lead, which Hotshots turned to 7-3 to take the game into the final set.

Hotshots needed all of the remaining five frames to win the match and the league and they started well, winning the first frame of the final set.

However O'Connors sealed the victory and the league title in the next frame for an unassailable 8-4 lead.

Hotshots showed character to win the final three frames for a more respectable 8-7 scoreline and no one showed more character than Danny Kelliher, winning all three of his frames.

Radical Rebels finished the season on a high with a 12-3 win over Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats.

They won the first set with a 5-0 whitewash but lost the second 3-2 before repeating the whitewash in the final set.

It was another great team performance, as all seven players got on the scoresheet and not for the first time this season both Declan Kelly and Stacy Redman scored hat tricks.

Its been a great effort from the Rebels all season, finishing third in their first season as a team is a wonderful achievement.

Despite the big loss, Rugrats avoid the dreaded play offs to stay in the Premier Division.

Finishing in the play off spot is North Heath Social Club, who narrowly beat their relegation rivals, Eltham Terrace Rack Pack by 8 frames to 7 to finish eleven points clear of their opponents.

Rack Pack's Simon Evans and Chris Gaunt had a good night though, both winning two of their three frames.

Relegated along with Rack Pack are Pickwick Academicals, who have the unfortunate record of going the whole season without a win after losing 13-2 against Eltham Terrace Club A this week.

Its been a tough inaugural Premier Division season for them but credit must be given for ploughing on through regardless.

The result was never in any doubt, after Eltham won the first set 5-0 and went on to win the next two 4-1.

Academicals sister team, Pickwick had better fortune, putting Bellegrove's run of good form to an end, with a 9-6 win over them.

Pickwick started much the better, winning the first set 5-0, which gave them the perfect platform to go on and win the match.

It was a good display from the Pickwick, with some great finishes from Paul Slater and Martin Storey but Bellegrove's Paul Donohoe topped that with a break and dish.

Glenmore Arms A were only three points ahead of Eltham Terrace Rovers at the top of SLKPA Division One, going into the final game so needed a big win and they got exactly that against Bellegrove Social Club.

They won the first set 4-1, whitewashed the second and finished with another 4-1 in the final set, for an impressive 13-2 victory.

All eight players troubled the scorer but only six were unbeaten, with Jeff Bailey, James Grant and Tony Stevens all winning their only frame, Alan Rothwell and Greg Phillimore taking both of their frames and Paul Thomas scoring a hat trick.

Not knowing what was going on at the Glenmore, Rovers had to fight hard at Royal Oak Addicks, a team that had already beaten them twice, to overcome the three point deficit.

They looked set to attain a big win, taking a 3-0 lead but Addicks won the last two frames of the set.

Rovers went on to win the next two sets by the same 3-2 scoreline, to win the match 9-6 overall but it wasn't quite enough for the championship.

Both Darren Porter and Ryan Francis were in great form for Rovers, winning all three of their frames.

It was a crazy night for the Addicks, who started the night in a safe spot in the table and could have ended in the promotion play off spot but results didn't go their way and they finished in the relegation play off spot.

Fox and Hounds finished in the promotion play off place, despite losing to Eltham Terrace Nuthouse by 10 frames to 5.

Nuthouse put in a superb performance, winning each set, 3-2, 4-1, 3-2, with Dave Sparey triumphant in both his frames and Craig Jones and Shane O'Reilly winning three out of three.

The battle between Fox, Nuthouse and Addicks was incredibly close, with only four points separating them at the end.

Addicks will play Plumstead Radical Club Rebels for a place in Division One, after they finished second in SLKPA Division Two.

It was mathematically possible for Rebels to catch Rileys Sharpshooters but it was a tough ask, however they did their best against Lord Herbert.

Rebels finished the season in high spirits with their biggest win of the season by 14 frames to 1 but it wasn't enough to catch Sharpshooters.

They had a hard fought match against the much improved Glenmore Arms 2 and they squeezed over the line with an 8-7 victory.

Elliot Giles was the stand out performer, winning three out of three for Sharpshooters, with some lovely clearances and Ben Creffield was in tip top form, producing two great finishes against Justin Skinner, for his two out of three.

This win gives Sharpshooters the division title by just five points.
