The Lashings world touring cricket team has confirmed they will visit Bexley CC this summer for their annual fixture against the Leigh Academies Trust.
South Africa, Northants and Lashings player Andrew Hall and event organiser and former Lashings player Kevin Brewer signed the contract confirming the clash on July 3.
Hall said: “I know from speaking to Herschelle Gibbs, who played in this fixture last year, what a great day the Leigh Trust and Bexley put on together.
“It is definitely one of the highlights of the summer as we know we have to perform at our best to beat the Leigh Trust team.
Leigh Trust vice principal Brewer added: “The Lashings event has grown to having more than 1,000 spectators from its humble beginning ten years ago.
“It is a day the students involved never forget.
“Imagine getting the wicket of someone of the stature of Sachin Tendulkar or Brian Lara, or hitting Tino Best over the pavilion for six.
“Lashings chairman David Folb has been brilliant in getting these big names to us over the years and I can’t thank him enough for his efforts in making this all possible’.
As usual, the match is preceded by a corporate lunch which helps raise funds for various charities.
