As the South London & Kent Pool Alliance winter season is drawing to a close, both Rileys teams, Hotshots and Sharpshooters scored huge wins to either consolidate or hit the top spot in their respective divisions.

Hotshots played bottom of the Premier Division table, Pickwick Academicals and they showed no mercy with a 14-1 victory to send Academicals back into Division One.

Skipper, Andre Cox led from the front, winning all three of his frames, as did Steve Krishnan and Tony Wilson with Richard Chapman also unbeaten on two frame wins.

This win puts them top by two points with two to play, after O'Connors narrowly beat Bellegrove by 8 frames to 7.

The first ten frames went one way then the other, then Bellegrove won the first two frames of the final set and looked on course for the win but O'Connors took the last three frames for the match.

For O'Connors Naftali Ayieko won his only frame and Micky Clayton and Jordan O'Connor both won their two frames but Bellegrove's Paul Williams went one better, winning all three.

Despite the loss, Bellegrove go up to fourth as Radical Rebels took advantage of a lacklustre Eltham Terrace Club A display.

Eltham were only two points behind the Rebels and fresh from inflicting Hotshots only defeat but Rebels bounced back from their shock cup exit to win the sets 4-1, 3-2 and 4-1 for an 11-4 win overall.

There were no less than five unbeaten Rebels, with Stacy Redman and Declan Kelly both scoring a hat trick, closely followed by Barry Barham and Paul Elford, on two frame wins and Peter Wells won his only frame.

Pickwick played host to Eltham Terrace Rack Pack and finished up with a 9-6 victory.

Martin Storey won both his frames and George Hammond won three out of three for Pickwick, as did Rack Pack's Tony Frost, whose hat trick included one total clearance.

Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats started the match with only four players but still managed to win the fist set 3-2 against North Heath Social Club.

They called out for reinforcements and Gavin Shephard made his way from Peterborough in time for the second set but he couldn't stop North Heath taking it and tying the match at 5 all.

Gavin did win the first frame of the final set followed by a dish from a dry break from Ian Cruwys to make it 7-5.

Steve Gibson then secured the win after potting the black by using four cushions to get out of a snooker.

Akar Necati pulled one back for North Heath with a break and dish but Rugrats Captain, Scott Shephard finished the match with a potting masterclass, which included sinking his last red from a snookered position, to give his team the 9-6 victory.

Sharpshooters increased their stronghold at the top of SLKPA Division Two to eleven points after their 13-2 victory over Lord Herbert.

It was a great all round team performance with Alex Dobbins, Elliot Giles, Ben Creffield and Steve Dixon all winning their three frames.

It was only a couple of sloppy shots that cost John Shepherd his hat trick and Sharpshooters the whitewash.

There was a much closer game between Glenmore Arms 2 and Bellegrove A, where each set was won by the odd frame, 3-2.

Glenmore won the first but Bellegrove took the second and developed a 2-1 lead in the final set, however Glenmore pulled out all the stops to pinch the last two frames and the match by 8 frames to 7.

Although the team lost, Richie Mitchell was in fine form, winning all three of his frames.

This win takes Glenmore past the 100 point mark and only seven points behind their opponents.

Glenmore Arms A have strengthened their chances of going up as champions of SLKPA Division One, with an emphatic 13-2 victory over Eltham Terrace Nuthouse, to take them fourteen points clear of Eltham Terrace Rovers, although they do have a game in hand.

Glenmore were dominant throughout, winning the first ten frames, before Lester Barrow scored Nuthouse's first and Claire Stork their second in the penultimate frame.

Greg Phillimore won his only frame for Glenmore with James Grant both of his but Pail Thomas went one better with all three and Dean Geary-Parr topped that by including a 7-baller in his hat trick.

After their cup heroics, Rovers struggled to beat four man Bellegrove Social Club.

They won the first set 4-1 but lost the second 3-2 before reversing that score in the final set, for a 9-6 victory.

Despite the loss, man of the match was Paul Hutchings, winning all three of his frames.

Both Rovers and Glenmore have now earned promotion to the Premier Division, it just remains to be seen who will be champions.

Royal Oak Addicks have closed the gap on their opponents, Fox and Hounds, in third place, to just five points, after beating them by 8 frames to 7.

Addicks won the first two sets 3-2 and took the first two frames of the final set but Fox rallied round to win the last three frames and make the score a bit more respectable.

Fox Captain, Kerry Wyatt kept up her good form, with three out of three as did Adam Newbrooke for Addicks.
