Orpington’s Lloyd Miller has promised his fans a fight of the night performance next month, as he embarks on his mission to become Queensbury national super middleweight champion.

The 27-year-old will travel to the iconic Alexandra Palace on March 14 to face battle-hardened champion Terry Russell in his quest to lift his first title in the televised Queensbury Boxing League competition.

And Miller is confident he’ll have more than enough in his locker to dethrone the champion and return home as the winner.

“I’m incredibly excited about fighting for the title next month, and with Russell’s style I know this is going to turn out to be the fight of the night.

“My last fight (v Paul Morby) was quite negative, so I was forced to press the action and go after him all the time.

“But Russell is completely different ,as he’s a strong aggressive come forward style fighter who I won’t have to go looking for.

“That’s what will make this so entertaining for the fans to come and watch.”

Russell claimed the belt in October of last year by beating fearsome Polish puncher Artur Gorka with a career best performance at the Epsom Downs racecourse.

And the fearless champion will enter the contest brimming with confidence, which is exactly how Miller wants it.

“He’s going to be confident coming into this fight and just come straight at me, but I believe he’s going to walk onto shots and if I catch him then it could be over.

“I’ve got great memories of boxing at the Alexandra Palace as that’s where I won my gold medal at the Box Cup.

“On March 14 I’m going to be adding the national title to that as well.”
