Blackheath 24 Richmond 24.

No longer a winning run, but Blackheath remain unbeaten in 2015, for which they can thank Ryan Squires.

The Club wing was responsible for 19 of his side's points including the last-ditch penalty that salvaged the draw, and cancelled out a 58th minute strike for Richmond full-back Rob Kirby, the only other score of the second period.

In contrast the opening period saw six tries, three apiece, and it was Squires who had crossed twice by the seventh minute to put the hosts 14-0 ahead, first grounding his own grubber kick to the corner and then weaving over after picking up loose ball in Richmond territory.

However, for a vast majority of the contest it was Richmond who held the upper hand in terms of territory and possession, thanks to their superior pack, and even though he hadn't started the match, Tom Sargeant, on as an early replacement in the back-row, was driven over twice from line-out ball.

Blackheath responded in kind to force a penalty try as Richmond collapsed, before Sargeant completed his hat-trick on half-time as the visitors' scrum surged over the goal-line, Kirby adding a third conversion for parity at the break.

Richmond's grip up front allowed them to dominate the second period, and Kirby's penalty on the hour looked to have edged them home, but Squires had one last opportunity and kept his nerve for a share of the spoils.

Next Saturday, Blackheath travel to Cheshire to face Macclesfield, before returning to Rectory Field a week later for the visit of Esher. Blackheath.
