Week thirteen of the South London & Pool Alliance and O'Connors carried on fromlast week, showing once again that they are not going to go quietly as they won 11-4 this week against Foots Cray Social Club Rugrats.

The only saving grace for the Rugrats being Scott Shephard and Alan Enever each getting two out of two with one of Shephard's a break and dish.
This win puts O’Connors just one point behind Rileys Hotshots, making it touch and go at the moment and all to play for.

Elsewhere in the premiership Pickwick Academicals lost narrowly to Eltham Terrace Rack Pack 7-8 and they will be kicking themselves for not taking their chances to win their first match of the season.

Tony Frost was in great form again, winning three out of three for the second week running with Alex Thompson and Chris Unwin getting two out of three.

Eltham Terrace Club A also lost narrowly to the Bellegrove 7-8, although Paul Shrimpton was in sizzling form winning all three of his frames for Eltham as did Tony Halpin for the Bellegrove.

The Radical Rebels machine seems to be marching on, beating North Heath Social Club 11-4, despite having to play their home game away as they had a problem with their table.

A great team performance by them winning 4-1,3-2,4-1 with individuals worthy of note include Barry Barham and Peter Wells both winning three frames for the Rebels and Ian Stringer doing the same for North Heath.

Finally in the premiership the Hotshots clocked up another win, 9-6 against The Pickwick.

This turned out to be a long tense match which could have been closer if several mistakes by Pickwick had not been punished by the hosts.

The Hotshots lost the first set 2-3 but won the second 4-1 and the third 3-2.
Star of the show again Andre Cox three out of three and Hotshots still unbeaten.

Lets get down to the SLKPA first division now with a top of the table clash between Eltham Terrace Rovers and Glenmore Arms A and Rovers came out on top again winning 9-6, although it does look as if Glenmore are unassailable being 17 points ahead, not impossible to catch but unlikely.

Rob Hearn and Darren Porter stars for the Rovers both winning three frames with Rob getting a 7 baller in the last frame of the night.

Ryan Francis also had a 7 baller in his only game of the night against his rival for the divisional rankings title, Paul Thomas.

Tony Stevens showed his worth for Glenmore winning both his frames.

Elsewhere Eltham Terrace Nuthouse had a good result against Royal Oak Addicks winning 9-6 with Shane O’Reilly winning all three, as did Julie Lancaster, well done Julie, although I should mention that the Addicks only had four players.

Well done also to Bellegrove Social Club, the bottom club beating last weeks third place team, Fox and Hounds 8-7.

The first set went 3-2 to Bellegrove and the other two sets went 4-1 and 1-4.

The only three out of three in the match was recorded by Colin McCormack.

We move down now to the second division where there was another top of the table clash between Plumstead Radical Club Rebels and Rileys Sharpshooters and as with the first division, the side in second came out on top with the Rebels beating the Sharpshooters narrowly 8-7.

Looking at the table the Sharpshooters are eight points ahead of Rebels although they have only won seven matches to the Rebels ten and on that form the division is far from done and dusted.

The Rebels out gunned the Sharpshooters for the third time this season with the first and third sets going 3-2 to each, but the second set did the damage with the Rebels winning 4-1.

Frames were topsy turvy with mistakes on both sides meaning that they were each guilty of not taking deciding blacks.

At 7-7 Tony Stork and Alex Dobbins had the honour of playing for the game and Stork for the Rebels came out triumphant.

Bellegrove A beat the Lord Herbert 9-6 with no change in league position for either side.

Bellegrove won all three sets 3-2 with a hat trick for Stephen Craig with Terry Mitchell and John Skuza getting two out of two.

Billy Russell won both his frames for Lord Herbert.

Lastly but definitely not least White Hart played host to Glenmore 2 and probably wished they hadn’t with the visitors clocking up the highest win of the week 2-13.

Lewis Taylor was the star of the night with a 3/3 but there were also several undefeated performances from Steve Redout, Lee Dale, Jason Brunton and Dan Brown.

 Well done Glenmore 2.

Well, that’s it for this week, if there are any glaring mistakes, don’t blame Steve as he is busy this week and his dad, Alan has stepped into the breech.

Normal service will resume next week.
